How to install and start 4Sync?
To install and start using 4Sync, just follow simple instructions:
- Download 4Sync on your computer.
- Install 4Sync on your computer by following the instructions provided.
- Click on the 4Sync icon that will appear in the right-hand corner of your desktop.
What is a 4Sync folder?
As soon as you install 4Sync on your computer, a 4Sync folder appears, where the synchronized files
and folders are saved, according to the path you've selected.
- Standard location - 4Sync folder will be placed in My Documents.
- Customized location - you decide where on your computer the 4Sync folder will be placed.
How to access and manage the 4Sync folder?
To open the 4Sync folder, just double left-click on 4Sync icon on the taskbar of your computer, and the folder will open.
You can also open 4Sync folder via the file-manager application, included with your OS (Windows Explorer for Windows).
You can change any settings or preferences in the open 4Sync window, or by right-clicking on 4Sync icon on the Taskbar.
How to synchronize files and folders?
Synchronization of any files and folders is easy:
- If you install 4Sync on all of your computers, just save your files in the 4Sync folder.
All files and updates will appear and be accessible from any other computer, in 4Sync folders.
- If you install 4Sync on one of your computers, save files in 4Sync the in folder, and all files and updates will appear and
be accessible from any other computer, from your 4Sync account. Just log in and get access to any synchronized files and folders.
How to create a new folder?
To create a new folder in your 4Sync folder, just open 4Sync folder, right-click on the empty space and select Create Folder from the menu.
How to share files?
If you want to allow access to any of your synchronized files or folders, right-click on the file (folder),
you wish to share, and select Copy to My 4Sync from the list.
What is 4Sync sychronization history?
Synchronization history is a 4Sync feature, which allows you to browse the files and folders you've already uploaded, downloaded and synchronized.
How to view my 4Sync synchronization history?
To view your 4Sync synchronization history, right-click on the 4Sync icon on the taskbar of your computer and select View History from the menu.
How to sync a folder with files, which is located on a PC or laptop, without having to copy it into the 4Sync folder?
You just have to create a shortcut of a needed folder and then copy it to 4Sync folder.
How to synchronize not all contents of the Web account with PC or laptop?
Click on the 4Sync icon in the system tray. Then select following commands: Settings - Account - Advanced - Customized synchronization. Here you can tuck those folders which you would like to sync. The same option is provided during the 4Sync app installation. Note that when you stop synchronization with the Web account, your files would be deleted from your 4Sync folder.
How to change the location of the 4Sync folder?
Click on the 4Sync icon in the system tray. Then select the following commands: Settings - Account - 4Sync folder location.
How to change the user in the application?
Click on the 4Sync icon in the system tray. Then select the following commands: Settings - Account - Unjoin.
How to get the logs of the application?
To find the logs you need to click: Preferences -> Ctrl+Alt+L.
How to pause the application?
Right-click on the 4Sync icon in the tray and select Pause.
How to exit the application?
Right-click on the 4Sync icon in the tray and choose Exit.
